About Us
We are a social enterprise...
We believe that to love, foster, and feel connected to nature and the greatest threats to our time, we must be immersed in nature. We create creative, hands-on experiences and opportunities for people to deeply connect with and learn about the environment and living more sustainably, and to encourage businesses to prioritise the planet over profits. We aim to fund our fun non-profit community events, experiences and art through engaging with businesses and the sale of our nature kits and other experiences.
We enjoy...
Arts and creativity, facilitation, social innovation and better business, project management, environmental and climate change education, creating community and connection in a disconnected world, and inspiring unconventional thinking and a love of nature.
We are spearheaded by...
The Wilder is spearheaded by Melanie Lazelle, who has ended up in Squamish after exploring the world and engaging with social enterprises and innovative projects tackling local issues; creating unforgettable immersive experiences; educating on sustainability and climate change; and researching what impactful, ethical business looks like. Along the way she built a tiny house, started an ethical fashion company, completed her Masters in International Development, journehed around India learning about supply chains from cotton fields to clothing factories, climbed to Everest Base Camp, and won a prize for her home-grown vegetables.
